An innovative plant for the production of wind turbines will be built in Kazakhstan

The first plant for the production of wind generators in the CIS will be built in Aktobe by the end of this year.

An innovative plant for the production of wind generators is planned to be built in Aktobe, according to United Energies Aktobe.

Akimat of Aktobe region and United Energies Aktobe signed a memorandum on the construction of a plant and components with a total cost of 84 million euros. The project will be financed by attracting foreign investments from Germany together with Kazakh state financial institutions.

"The construction of the plant requires about three years, and this will be the first and so far the only plant of this plan on the territory of the former USSR countries. The plant will be located on the territory of 17 hectares, and the maximum production capacity of the plant will be 250 megawatts per year. For the successful operation of the production, a staff of 500 people will be required, which will create new jobs in the region, " commented Michael Paulz, General Director of United Energies Aktobe.

Aktobe region was chosen for the construction of the plant according to several criteria: The region ranks second in Kazakhstan in terms of ease of doing business in the Doing Business rating and third in terms of the amount of external investment in fixed assets in the republic over the past five years.

"The following factors are weather conditions, developed infrastructure and a high level of investor support from the regional investor service center operating on the principle of "one window", — the company notes.

According to preliminary data, the groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for the second half of 2017.
