"Energy-efficient heat supply in industry" What the EEDI working group learned during a thematic trip to Germany

EEDI employees, which included the Director of the State Energy Register Center Almat Kabykenov and the Director of the Center for International Cooperation Zhanibek Akhmetov, paid a working visit to Germany. The topic of this trip was “Energy efficient heat supply in industry”.

The meeting party was the German energy agency "Dena", represented by the Executive Director Kristine Haverkamp. Topics such as: “The German Energy Pivot. Review of the State Policy on Energy Efficiency in Industry "," Network Structures of Energy Efficiency in Industry "," Use of Waste Heat in Industry ". The speakers of the seminar were the leading experts in this field.

The trip included visits to several major industrial sites such as Vattenfall, where the delegation learned about the use of waste heat from industry, the use of solar thermal energy, Power-to-Heat technology, smart milling, and other energy efficiency measures.

The next object, where the staff of the Institute went was the Marl Chemical Park. This visit included a tour of one of the largest chemical sites in Germany. Its total area is 650 hectares. The park specializes in the production of the following intermediate products: ethylene, phenol, methanol, alkaloids, caustic soda, as well as end products: polyamides, plastics, polyester, solvents. The infrastructure of the park is represented by autobahns, railways, canals and pipelines, three thermal power plants (two of which run on coal, one on gas), storage facilities.

Viessmann Werke GmbH & Co. KG, a large industrial enterprise engaged in the production of heating systems, industrial and refrigeration equipment, opened its doors, where they talked about energy efficiency in production.

This trip included a large amount of useful information for implementation in various areas of the sphere of Kazakhstan.
