On November 11, at the initiative of the international environmental network "School Project on the use of Resources and Energy" (SPARE), it was declared the International Day of Energy Saving (International Day of Energy Saving). The decision to establish this holiday was made in April 2008 at the international meeting of SPARE coordinators held in Kazakhstan. And already in November 2008, the world celebrated the first Day of Energy Saving. This holiday has received the status of an international one, since about 20 countries wished to participate in the project. The main purpose of the holiday is to attract the attention of the authorities and the public to the rational use of resources and the development of renewable energy sources.
