Signing of a trilateral memorandum in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement
As part of the official visit of the Head of State to the Federal Republic of Germany, on December 5, 2019, a trilateral memorandum on strategic partnership in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement was signed between the National “Atameken” Chamber of Entrepreneurs, JSC "Electric power and energy saving development institute", and the German Energy Agency (dena).
This agreement provides for the development in 2020 of a long-term and sectoral master-plan for improving the country's energy efficiency until 2030. The German side will allocate financial resources for the development and consultation of a master plan for energy saving and energy efficiency improvement in Kazakhstan.
The parties express interest in attracting European energy service companies and leading manufacturers of energy-efficient technologies and equipment to the Kazakhstan market for the implementation of energy service projects, as well as in supporting the implementation of investment projects in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement in various sectors of the economy.
Dena Agency acts as an initiator and organizer of projects and campaigns in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Dena also provides consulting services on energy policy development and promotes promising innovations, contributing to the early achievement of results on targeted energy efficiency improvements and the efficient use of renewable energy sources. In determining the strategy for sustainable energy development, the Federal Government uses the German Energy Agency as a competent expert.
